Cool Summer Shoes That Hide Bunions....uh....What Bunions?
Ugh…it’s that season again. Time to put off taking out the summer shoes, bunions be damned. It’s already too late in the season to get by with wearing your comfy flat loafers, to give up your attempt to be ‘summer cool’ by just giving up socks. That’s actually drawing attention to your feet. Yikes.
If you’re constantly on the lookout for shoes that cover bunions and those who-knows-what-the-heck-they-are bumps on the outside of your upper foot, the news is good! There are some nice, bunion friendly shoes out there this year that are:
a) comfortable on bunions and wide (to the point of ugly like mine) feet, and...
b) decidedly fashionable, not necessarily in that order.
Couple of good finds...
Born’s Blossom Sandals: These are a summer dream shoe for those of us with boat-wide upper 
feet! Born shoes are usually at the top of my list for open shoes because they tend to be wider in the top, with comfortable but firm leather that resists “bunion wear” – you know, those worn spots in the leather on your shoes where those damn things keep trying to poke through. The good thing about these is the flower…it’s understated enough to work with many outfits, but pulls the eye away from the outside of the shoe (and those ugly toenails if you’ve got ‘em!) without making you look like a fashion stand-in for Mimi on the Drew Cary show.

Spa sandal: Another option for fun shoes (who, me? Fun shoes??? 
Who knew!) that effectively hide those peds-with-wings but are comfortable, will last (no peek-a-boo bunion portals) and are even machine washable. AND…they come in a variety of colors and trims. Not terribly expensive either – I suggest you stock up. These are nice in that they actually have the potential to be even a little dressy depending upon your outfit.
...and here's a few more good shoes that hide bunions...take a break from having to look through page after page of delicate, strappy little doo-dads that just make you mad. If you have real bunions, you know what I'm talkin' about!
